Steel Welding
Here at Quality Steel, we do our best to leave our customers satisfied by providing them with services of amazing quality. Through effective quality control and management, we offer the best quality of steel processing available, and the quality of our service is constantly improving. Using the most advanced and specialised technical machinery, we are able to provide the entire nation with great welding services.
Among the means of steel processing, welding may be one of the most commonly used. We define welding as the fabrication or sculptural process that is used to joint metals together through fusion. The main characteristic of welding is that it uses incredibly high temperatures to achieve this effect, as opposed to other techniques that use lower temperatures. The high temperature makes it possible to melt the base metal, so that it can be fused. Additionally, filter material may be added to help form a joint that is stronger than the base metal. Pressure can also be applied to serve a similar function.
Our offer consists of various methods of welding, such as:
- Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) – also known as stick welding, electric welding. As the last name suggests, the method involves the use of an electrode with a flux around it, the purpose of which is to protect the weld puddle. The electrode slowly melts away in the process and slag protects the weld puddle from atmospheric contamination.
- Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) – also known as TIG (tungsten, inert gas), this method involves a non-consumable tungsten electrode in the weld production process. Atmospheric contamination is prevented by shielding gas, such as argon or helium.
- Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) – also known as MIG (metal, inert gas) utilises a wire feeding gun that feeds the wire at an adjustable speed and flows an argon-based shielding gas consisting of a mix of argon and carbon dioxide over the weld puddle which helps protect it from atmospheric contamination.
- Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) – very similar to MIG welding, though it uses a special tubular wire filled with flux. Whether it requires a shielding gas or not depends on the filter.
